One man in his 20s was airlifted to hospital by the Air Ambulance NI service following a road traffic collision involving two vehicles which occurred on the Belfast Road, Brookeborough yesterday afternoon (October 16).

Following a 999 call at 4.42pm on the Sunday afternoon, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) despatched two ambulances, one ambulance officer, and the charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board to the incident. PSNI officers also attended the scene.

One patient was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital by air ambulance and one patient was taken to the South West Acute Hospital by ambulance.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "A man in his 20s was airlifted to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

"We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who would have dash-cam footage of what happened to contact us at 101, quoting reference number 1200 of 16/10/22."
