Asda Enniskillen has been doubly honoured at a Northern Ireland-wide ceremony to recognise those colleagues who have gone ‘above and beyond’ in service delivery.

Not only did the store receive the 'Top Team' accolade, but its popular Home Shopping driver, Paul McSheffrey was named 'Retail Colleague of The Year' at the ‘Proud to be Asda’ 2022 NI awards.

Created to acknowledge those individuals who have stepped up for colleagues, communities, and each other, the Proud to Be Asda Awards aim to shine a spotlight on those who have made a genuine difference in their workplace.

Collectively, the team at Asda Enniskillen took home the accolade for their hard work, quick thinking, and dedication when the store was unexpectedly affected by a power cut during a very busy Friday evening.

The ever-alert team jumped into action, assisting customers, monitoring temperatures, and moving stock – all achieved with minimal service disruption. Many of the dedicated colleagues stayed late to help customers and ensure the store could operate safely.

Enniskillen’s Paul McSheffrey, was recognised as NI Retail Colleague of the Year after the kind-hearted home delivery driver stopped while out on his rounds to help an elderly lady whom he realised was disorientated and confused. His quick thinking, thoughtfulness and consideration resulted in a very happy outcome which was much appreciated by the lady and her family.

George Rankin, Senior Director for Asda Northern Ireland said: “It is a real honour to be able to bring together our colleagues to celebrate their amazing, achievements, which, collectively make us all very Proud to be Asda. Each nominee, particularly the colleagues in our Enniskillen store, has made a special effort and in their own way has made a big difference to the services we deliver. They deserve this recognition, and we thank them for everything they do.”
