The 3A’s (Anawim Adonai Africa) charity is hosting a Christmas Fayre in the Delaney Suite of Mahon’s Hotel, Irvinestown this Saturday (November 26) from 10am to 2.30pm.

On the day there will be a great range of stalls to help you kickstart your Christmas shopping. Money raised on the day will be in support of the charity’s work.

As the saying goes, “Tall trees from little acorns grow” and the acorn for this little charity was sown in January, 2015, when a small number of friends came together to decide ways of helping out a community of children in Kitui, Kenya, where there are innumerable problems of poverty, famine, and drought.

The main focus was to pay the school fees of children whose parents were too poor, so that with a basic education, it could help these children escape from such harsh poverty. However, it was also decided to help out in any way possible.

The 3 A’s currently support children at all levels: primary, secondary and university. The charity raises money through sponsored walks, tours, cycles, dances and a yearly Christmas Fayre. The monies raised go directly to source.

To date, more than £70,000 has been raised and the committee – now comprising eight members – are very grateful to the local community for all their support.

Tickets for a grand draw in aid of the charity are now also on sale, with entrants being in with the chance of winning a Massey Ferguson 135 worth £10,000.

These tickets can be purchased online at aaafrica.org or from any committee member.

The winner will be announced at a Draw and Dance to be held at St. Eugene’s Hall, Dregish on April 10, 2023.
