The streets of Enniskillen will be lit up on the night of Saturday, December 10 as local farmers prepare for the return of the Enniskillen Christmas Lights Tractor Run in aid of Air Ambulance NI (AANI).

The event will begin from Stuart’s car park where registration starts at 5pm before the Christmas-lit John Deeres, Massey Fergusons, New Hollands and many other well-known branded tractors will begin their 10-mile parade at 7pm.

Due to participants and spectators, there may be traffic delays in the town that evening. Entry is £15 per tractor and all proceeds of the event are going to AANI.

Damien McAnespie, Area Fundraising Manager for the charity, said: “We are delighted that the community of Enniskillen is coming together to raise funds for the helicopter emergency medical service.

"It is sure to be another wonderful night and one for all the family to come out and see.

"Last year, the event raised £7,240 for AANI, which funded the service for between one and two days.

"Our thanks to the organising committee for their support and to the wonderful AANI volunteers who will be doing a street collection on the night too. I would ask everyone to give what they can.”

AANI is the charity that provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for Northern Ireland, together with partners at the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

The service brings urgent medical assistance to anywhere in the province, operating seven days a week for 12 hours per day.

"It can get to anywhere in Northern Ireland in approximately 20 minutes, and, locally, the service has been tasked to the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area on more than 254 occasions, up to the end of October.
