The PSNI has revealed that a total of 38 drugs seizures took place in the Fermanagh and Omagh District – with a street value of £1,285 – with four arrests made over the festive period as part of its annual Christmas operation, ‘Operation Seasons Greetings’.
These statistics were revealed following the conclusion of the festive operation, which aimed to keep people safe in the run-up to Christmas.
Across the district, the PSNI also seized seven offensive weapons, with 12 arrests made, and 18 arrests were also made for violence against the person offences.
Retail crime was a key focus for Operation Seasons Greetings and as a result, 14 arrests were made in relation to retail theft and associated offences, and one arrest was made for burglary.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police in this district conducted 1,440 patrols over the Christmas period, including the patrolling of transport hubs, town centres and retail hubs, all with the aim of keeping people safe.”
