A public consultation event will take place this week in Enniskillen as to the future of the site for Enniskillen Royal Grammar School.

The development proposal is for the “redevelopment and extension of the existing Portora Royal Grammar School” site according to a Public Notice published in this newspaper in last week’s edition of the Impartial Reporter on January 19.

The site known as Lough Shore is part of the split site school comprised of the buildings of the Portora Royal School and Enniskillen Collegiate Grammar School which amalgamated in 2016.

The public consultation event will take place at Enniskillen Royal Grammar, 1 Lough Shore Road, Enniskillen on Wednesday January, 25 from 4pm – 8pm.

An online consultation event will take place from 3pm – 4pm on Wednesday January, 25 with places for this event now closed.

In a statement to The Impartial Reporter, ERGS principal, Miss Elizabeth Armstrong said: “We are delighted to have reached this important milestone for our new build and for our vibrant school community as we progress yet further in our ERGS success story.

“This public consultation takes us another step closer to our exciting new build which brings together our historic listed building with our new state of the art provision in a fitting setting for the rich, diverse and thriving curricular and extracurricular provision which is the unique contribution of Enniskillen Royal Grammar School to education in Fermanagh.”

The public notice advises that if anyone cannot attend the public consultation events and wishes to receive further information on the proposal to contact the school via email EnniskillenRoyalGrammar@outlook.com or contact Juno Planning & Environmental Ltd.
