Mrs. Linda May Dykes (Fleming) passed peacefully, surrounded by family, in the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) in Enniskillen on January 30 after a sudden illness.

Linda was born on May 24, 1957 and was survived by her beloved husband Noel, sons Craig (Rachel), Gareth (Amber), mother Olive (late Fredrick), dearest siblings Daphne, Fred (Claire) and the late Raymond.

Linda was born in Enniskillen, one of four children. She attended Shanmullagh Primary School, just a small walk from the family home in Ballycassidy.

Linda spent a very happy childhood there, and following a short spell of employment in Belfast, she returned to Ballycassidy to settle with her family.

Linda prided herself on strong family values, shown through her inseparable bond with older sister Dee and the loving relationship she shared with brothers Ray and Fred.

Linda attended the Duke of Westminster School in Ballinamallard and Kesh where she made lifelong friends. Linda travelled to America on numerous occasions to visit her pen pal, which was the beginning of Linda’s love of travel and sunshine holidays.

Linda’s family values and love only grew when she met her husband Noel in 1988 and they married 18 months later in Trory Parish Church. Linda and Noel went to Crete for their honeymoon, with this becoming a regular holiday destination for many years with family and sister Dee.

Linda and Noel lived in Ballinamallard and Linda’s family was complete when Craig was born in 1992 and Gareth in 1994.

Linda’s pride, joy and biggest achievement in life were her boys, who in turn will ensure her love of family will be carried on to the next generation. In 1997 they moved to Ballycassidy beside the home of her childhood, where she remained until her untimely death.

Linda was a pillar in society and a familiar face in Mullan’s Pharmacy, where she spent 30 plus years providing a friendly smile for all customers. She was held in high regard with many glowing tributes coming from staff and customers. She had a passion for all things fashion and cosmetic.

This made her the perfect cosmetic consultant, and she could rhyme off all the latest perfumes and beauty products. Over her 65 years of life Linda would never be seen without her makeup.

She also shared a mutual love for Tottenham Hotspur with husband Noel and son Gareth. When Gareth was selected to be mascot at White Hart Lane flights were swiftly booked and memories to last a lifetime were made. This was to be the first of many enjoyable trips to North London.

All of the family circle have been overwhelmed with the support they have received after this sudden and untimely death but we know Linda would be overwhelmed to see the joy she brought to so many people throughout her life.

Linda’s family wish to thank everyone who supported them during this difficult time and to everyone who attended the wake and the funeral service.

'We think about you always, we talk about you still, you have never been forgotten and you never will. We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain, to walk and guide us through our lives, until we meet again.'
