Police have said that "enquiries are continuing" after the driver of a car that knocked down and killed a dog in Kesh this morning (March 15) did not stop.

A PSNI spokesperson: "Erne North Neighbourhood team sadly had to deal with a dog being knocked down near the station this morning.

"Unfortunately the poor animal passed away just before the vet arrived.

"We would just like to thank the passers by who stopped to help the animal and provided police with information on what happened," said the PSNI spokesperson, noting that the owner of the dog has been identified and informed.

"The car did not stop, enquiries are continuing," the PSNI spokesperson concluded.
