Lough Erne Landscape Partnership (LELP) are hosting three intergenerational events to celebrate their Schools Heritage Project, a collaboration with local schools which focused on traditional (vernacular) buildings and the social history connected with them.

To celebrate the work of the children, the public are invited to attend the forthcoming intergenerational events (sign up via Eventbrite):

• Kesh – This Friday, March 24, from 1.45pm to 3pm at Kesh PS;

• Lisnaskea – Next Monday, March 27, from 10am to 1pm at Share Centre (Arena building); and

• Belleek – Next Wednesday, March 29, from 10am to 12.30pm at Wark Hall, Belleek.

During each event, projects will be on display and children are invited to share their project/research with attendees.

Older members of the community are also invited to share their memories of bygone days.

There will be a brief presentation from Caroline Maguire of the Historic Environment Division, on traditional cottages in Fermanagh, as well as a presentation of old footage of past industries/skills, and the Mulholland Bros. on the making of scythe stones.

The project was made possible thanks to the funding support from the Department of Communities, Historic Environment Division and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
