A man who was recorded carrying a hammer during an incident in Brookeborough has been fined for possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
On February 17, police received a report of an incident in Main Street, Brookeborough involving a group of males, Enniskillen Magistrates Court heard on Monday, April 3.
A video was taken of the incident and shown to police, which shows a male swinging a golf club at another male.
Kyle McCrory (24), with an address of O’Kane Park, Omagh, was identified in the video holding a hammer.
He was arrested and interviewed, during which he made a full admission, the court heard.
His solicitor, Michelle McVeigh, said her client admitted having the hammer and had contacted police about it.
She said the incident was over an issue with money owed, but it had all been settled, and there was no further animosity between the parties.
Mrs. McVeigh asked the court to take into account the way McCrory met the matter for sentencing.
For possession of the hammer, McCrory was fined £200.
