SDLP local election candidate Garbhan Mc Phillips has called for a greater concentration on the natural beauty around Fermanagh to establish a highly-sought after tourism destination.
He has called for the re-establishment of the Upper Lough Erne Tourist Group to help and work along with the new Visitor Experience Development plan which has been recently set up by Fermanagh and Omagh District council.
He said: “The Upper Lough Erne region has not moved and developed in the way the Lower region of the Lough has over this past decade.
“The Upper Lough Erne Tourist group did have an information office in Lisnaskea a number of years ago, and a base needs to be re-established in order to kick-start efforts to create a product that would bring jobs and opportunities for South Fermanagh, and in particular, the Erne East district electoral area.”
