A man caught driving by police in Enniskillen had no insurance policy in place, a court has heard.
On November 7, 2022, police were on mobile patrol at around 10.45am when they observed a Renault van driving in the direction of Eden Street, Enniskillen Magistrates Court heard on Monday.
They stopped the car and spoke to the driver – Lukas Steczek (35), of Algeo Drive, Enniskillen.
Checks showed there was no insurance in place and Steczek made full admissions to the lack of insurance, the court heard.
He was issued with a fixed penalty notice; however, he was unable to surrender his licence as it was a Polish driving licence.
His solicitor told the court this was a simple case of the insurance policy lapsing and that after Steczek was stopped by police, he took out a new policy.
For having no insurance, Steczek was given six penalty points and a £150 fine.
