Music lovers are in for a treat on Saturday week, May 20, when a special fundraising event will be held at 8pm at The Moorings Restaurant, Bellanaleck.

The charity 'Blue Grass on the Lakelands' event will feature some great music from The Watery Hill Boys, from Drogheda, with tickets priced £15 including a light supper.

The evening gig is being run in memory of the late John Watson, who passed away in May, 2022, and who received exceptional care by the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH), Enniskillen.

The SWAH was fantastic for John – if the hospital had not been there, he would have died in 2018 due to ongoing health problems and emergencies.

John ran concerts in his own home and had a great love for music, and it is hoped that the upcoming fundraising evening on May 20 will do his memory justice, with The Moorings – one of john's favourite places – sure to provide a perfect venue.

What promises to be a great, memorable evening for the community is being held to raise money for palliative care at the SWAH, and the wonderful work by the palliative care staff there.

Expected to run from 8pm to 10.30pm, those attending the Blue Grass on the Lakelands event are advised to bring blankets and warm clothes to be prepared for Fermanagh’s mid-Spring weather.
