There was a great buzz as the Enniskillen Community Market opened its doors for the first time on Saturday, June 3.

The ethos of the market is to offer a mixture of second hand and preloved items such as household items, DIY and tools, clothing and toys, while also showcasing local crafts.

"[We were] lucky enough to have The Kindness Postbox join us along with the Lough Erne Landscape Partnership (LELP), both wonderful groups which went down very well," said the spokesperson, adding: "We are also a non-profit group so all money collected from the stall fees and the tombola will be collected and donated to a local charity/social/worthy cause in December.

"To decide which group, we ask all stallholders from now until December to nominate their chosen group and it will be chosen by random and they will receive the donation. Each year, a fresh group will benefit from this great event."

Grateful for the support from the local business community for the tombola, the spokesperson said: "We really couldn't be more grateful to the support of local businesses for their amazing kind donations."

Talking about the success of the first market, which showcased a fantastic variety of sellers, the spokesperson said: "It was lovely on Saturday to walk around and hear people commenting about the stalls.

"A few of our stalls were completely new, [they had] never done anything like that before and loved it! From decorative frames to vinyl records, they are now on a new journey because they were willing to take a chance on us."

Following the success of its official opening, Enniskillen Community Market will continue on the first Saturday of each month in the Salvation Army Hall, Halls Lane, Enniskillen, running from 10am to 3pm. The next market will take place on Saturday, July 1.
