A new book on the experiences of Border people and their lives will be launched tonight (Thursday) in Clones.
Published by the Clones Family Resource Centre, the book titled ‘Our Shared Way of Life: Listening to Border People’ explores what it means to live on the Border and shares testimony from people from across the political spectrum who live on either sides of the Border.
The author of the book is Denzil McDaniel, former editor of The Impartial Reporter, who interviewed participants and collated the information into a series of sections which explore various topics including: the past, identity, religion as well as the potential for a Border poll.
The guest speaker at the launch will be Susan McKay, an award-winning writer and journalist who has authored noted works including ‘Northern Protestants on Shifting Ground’ and other works.
‘Our Shared Way of Life: Listening to Border People’ will be launched tonight (Thursday, June 8) at 6.30pm in Monaghan County Library, Clones.
