Large crowds gathered at the Broadmeadow in Enniskillen on Sunday, May 28 for Emergency Services Day – an event organised by Fermanagh and Omagh Community Safety Partnership, in conjunction with key emergency services providers to highlight and celebrate the work of the emergency services across the district.
The free event, which took place from 2pm to 5pm on the day, was officially opened by Paul Blake, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh PCSP.
During the day, visitors had the opportunity to see at close quarters the tremendous work undertaken by the emergency services in the district, with demonstrations from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Northern Ireland Mountain Rescue Team, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, Northern Ireland Ambulance Service Trust and a special display by the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Canine Display team.
For many, a highlight of the day was the attendance of the Coastguard helicopter, which flew in and landed in the Lakeland Forum playing fields, creating quite a spectacle.
