‘Blue Grass on the Lakelands’, a special fundraising event held recently in memory of the late John Watson, raised a total of £3,100 for palliative care at the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) in Enniskillen.
The night of music which took place at The Moorings Restaurant, Bellanaleck – one of John’s favourite places, on May 20 – was organised to not only raise funds for the important local service, but to show appreciation for the wonderful work of palliative care staff, who provided exceptional care for John prior to his passing in May, 2022.
The SWAH was fantastic for John – if the hospital had not been there, he would have died in 2018 due to ongoing health problems and emergencies.
A great night was had by all who attended the well attended fundraiser, which featured some terrific music from a popular Blue Grass band, The Watery Hill Boys, from Drogheda.
