Despite the changeable weather, a great time was had by all who attended Make Music Day 2023 performances in the grounds of the Ardhowen Theatre, Enniskillen, on Wednesday, June 21.

Make Music Day UK is an annual celebration of music-making that takes place in communities across the world each June 21.

The day builds on a concept started in France in 1982 – that a day each year should be dedicated to music, with no barriers to people playing and enjoying live performance – and has now spread to more than 125 countries.

The local event, which was hosted by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, offered a full day of free music.

From 12.30pm to 1.30pm, audiences enjoyed singing performances from choirs of two local primary schools; Enniskillen Model and Jones Memorial in Enniskillen.

Make Music Day celebrations continued that evening, with performances by the Silver Tones Male Voice Choir, The Sentrals and Sing Together Irvinestown, from 7pm to 9pm. Audiences enjoyed the live performances in the open air as Make Music Day was celebrated by all ages.
