AN immense gathering of loyalists, accompanied by over 100 bands and banners, celebrated the Boyne Anniversary in a big County Fermanagh demonstration in Enniskillen on Thursday.

Special trains brought thousands from the outskirts of the county, and many also joined the Fermanagh loyalists from Leitrim, Monaghan, and Donegal, the Pettigo brethren from the latter county receiving a hearty welcome, and although there was a meeting in Clones many Clones brethren preferred Enniskillen.

The procession having marched to the field at Portora where the meeting took place,

On. the motion of Bro. Sir Charles Falls, the chair was taken by Bro. Right. Hon. E.M. Archdale, P.C.

The opening religious services were conducted By Rev. Walker Stack and Rev. Thomas Walmsley. Apologies for non-attendance were received from Thompson Donald, M.P., and Mr. S McGuffin, M.P.

The Chairman, who was received with cheers, said he was proud of such a grand turn out of the loyal men and women of Fermanagh, and better still to know that they in the Six Counties now enjoyed the blessing of peace, and nothing but the universal trade depression which he had reason to believe was lifting slowly when those idiotic strikers begun, to prevent any one who worked hard from earning a decent living. This happy time was welcomed by everyone, and such a result could not have been attained of the whole people had not backed up strongly their Prime Minister in his arduous task, and they in the Cabinet who were associated with him more immediately. They did not meet that day in any spirit of intolerance or brag; that was contrary to the principles of their Institution, one of its foundation laws being 'that no one of an intolerant spirit be admitted,' but to commemorate the liberty won for them by their ancestors many years ago, and to reaffirm their loyalty and determination, God helping them, never to give up that liberty. (Cheers) The best way to that was to be fair and just to all, preserve their old Fermanagh character of living together in goodwill and peace and show that in their corner of the Empire good laws fairly and justly administered, give satisfactory peace to all within their border.
