The 103rd Clogher Valley Show takes place on Wednesday, July 26 at Augher showgrounds.

Around 20,000 visitors are expected to attend the show on the 60-acre site.

As a tribute to the late President, Captain Robert Lowry, the Clogher Valley Agricultural Society awarded a bursary to a CAFRE student finishing their first year at College.

This year’s recipient is Jill Liggett, who lives locally on a family farm where she has her own sheep flock and is familiar with the Show, having attended it over the years.

Jill is studying Agriculture Technology at Greenmount Campus.

In addition to the competitive cattle and sheep sections, there will be a vintage vehicle display for vehicles registered before 1983 and which is now in its 18th year, with increasing entries each year.

The dog show is also popular and this year starts at noon at the rear of the primary school, with entries taken from 11am.

This year’s chosen charity at Clogher Valley Show is Guide Dogs Association, represented by Gary Wilson at the launch where he explained the difference which donations make to the charity.

A ‘Most Appropriately Dressed Lady’ competition will also take place.

One of the highlights for spectators is the Food Hall for Year of Food 2023 sponsored by Glanbia with DAERA.

It will be officially opened on Tuesday evening, July 25, by guest speaker, Adam Woods, Beef Editor, Irish Farmers’ Journal, in front of invited judges, chief stewards and other guests.

During the Show day, Chef Adrian will be in attendance performing cookery demonstrations and there will be the Junior and Senior Cook-Off Competition, as well as having a wide selection of food products from specialist artisan producers on display and for sale.

Traffic diversions will be in operation on the Show morning to help facilitate freeflowing traffic.

Another attraction is the field of trade stands, ranging from machinery and cars to smaller products and services.
