A local business has invested in machinery which they say will set them apart for the next 40 years.
The Print Factory in Enniskillen has invested in the Heidelberg SX52 press and Heidelberg Stahl folding machine – a fully automated, programmable touchscreen paper folder, capable of folding over 20,000 sheets per hour.
Also installed last week was a Xerox Digital Production Press with online finishing.
They were recently installed as part of the company’s machine replenishment programme with the Heidelberg SX52 shipped from Germany to Enniskillen.
“We have long been reading up, studying for the best and most suited models in the Rolls Royce of printing equipment and we’re finally here!” said John Cosgrove Jnr.
The Cosgrove brothers – Aidan and John Jnr – said the capital investment in plant machinery will keep The Print Factory “at the forefront of the printing trade in Ireland and the UK, to best serve both loyal customers and our trade partners”.
They added: “These German-made machines will help keep pace with the fresh printing firepower, efficiency and the reassurance that only a Heidelberg brings for reliability.
“When we made the decision to reinvest in new equipment, we knew what we needed and what we wanted, but it was going to be a difficult journey very similar to buying a new car today – long waiting lists, with high demand. We needed to move quick.
“This particular press was like hens’ teeth! It was worth waiting for and it will set us apart for another 40 years easily.”
Alan Creber, from Impress Graphic Equipment, said: “It’s great to see the lads planning for the future. I first dealt with the family over 40 years ago before their dad, John Snr, established The Print Factory.
“Little did I know 40 years later we would still be in contact. It’s a pleasure to see a family-run business investing for the future.”
The Cosgroves continued: “We know how challenging and difficult the last few years have been, especially when we lost our best friend and mentor, our dad.
“There are going to be challenging times ahead, but if you don’t reinvest for the future you’re going to be left behind; unfortunately, already six major-sized printing companies have closed recently in Ireland.
“We are determined to plan for the future and think positive; we’ve got to invest to stay competitive, look at the business and the growth we want to achieve, and most importantly, to secure valuable local jobs.
“We would like to thank all our loyal staff, past and present, and our customers for successfully supporting us for nearly 40 years; The Print Factory was established locally in 1984.
“We would also like to thank Ian Fulton, our Client Executive from Invest NI, for his support. We encourage all our followers to shop and support local businesses.”
