There was a great celebration at Holy Cross Church in Lisnaskea last Sunday, October 1, as the Parish’s growing international community joined together for a special mass.

Parish priest Father Jimmy McPhillips said: “As a parish community, we had become more and more aware of the growing international community within the parish, many having lived here for years, and quite a sizeable number recently arrived to take up jobs in the medical profession.

“We felt it important that we would welcome them officially into the parish by celebrating last week’s International Mass.

“Invites were issued and many people arrived from the Philippines, India, Denmark, Lithuania, Poland and Pakistan.

“During the liturgy, they introduced themselves in their native language and said prayers, again in their native language,” he added.

Following the success of the International Mass, Father Jimmy commented that it is the intention of the parish to make it an annual event.
