The rustling of pages helped jog the memory of many as memorabilia all about life in the Coa area was showcased in the Coa Community Hall recently.
It has been quite some time since the roll book was called at the site of the former Coa National School but roll books, school textbooks, and old school photographs were some of the most popular memorabilia on stage.
Organised by Tony and Collette Harte, the exhibition aimed to feature as many people from Coa as possible whether through connections to the school, which will be the subject of a book in the future.
Many facets of life from the area were included such as sporting interests, St.Patrick’s Pipe Band, concerts, farming, dances, plays, and church.
Familiar faces from years gone by featured in the exhibition included Douglas Armstrong, Louis Edwards, and members of the McCanns, McQuades, Greenes, Donnellys, Tummons and other local families who are associated with the area.
The exhibition delighted young and old and was a testament to collectors in the area who have carefully archived photographs, press clippings and anything to do with Coa.
