A 20-year-old female pedestrian has died following a crash in Fermanagh last night (Wednesday, December 13). The crash occurred on the A4 Belfast Road at Lisbellaw.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "A 20-year-old female pedestrian has died following a collision on Belfast Road in Lisbellaw which occurred at around 5.50pm on Wednesday, December 13.
"A 25-year-old man was arrested and remains in police custody at present.
"Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have captured dash-cam or other footage in the area at the time to please get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference 1600 13/12/23."
MLA Deborah Erskine expressed her sympathy to the family of the bereaved and said: "Very sad and devastating news that we are waking up to. Tragically a young woman died last night due to a road traffic collision on the Belfast Road, at Lisbellaw.
"My prayers are with the young woman’s family and friends who have been plunged into grief.
"We also pay tribute to the emergency services who attended last night. Police are appealing for information."
The A4 Belfast Road was closed for a period but has since re-opened.
