Erne Highland Dancers recently hosted a Ceilidh night in the Royal British Legion, Enniskillen.

It was a night like no other on December 2, featuring music from the Alastair Scott Ceilidh band, playing instruments such as the button accordion, piano accordion and drums to name a few. The lively music was enough to entice the crowd onto the dance floor for a fun filled few hours.

This event hosted by the Erne Highland Dancers was made possible by the support of the Ulster Scots Agency.

Ceilidhs are always a wonderful way to celebrate traditional Ulster Scots culture. The evening featured a short display of highland dance performed by members of the Erne Highland Dancers in traditional costume much to the delight of all those in attendance. This was followed by the Alastair Scot Ceilidh Band with some well known dance favourites such as the ‘Gay Gordons’ and ‘Strip the Willow.’ There was something to suit everyone from the youngest to the oldest and all in between.

Refreshments were provided by way of a light supper before the dancing recommenced again for those with renewed energy.

A spokeswoman for Erne Highland Dancers wished to thank those who made the evening a success, namely the Alastair Scott Ceilidh Band, The Royal British Legion, Enniskillen and the Ulster Scots Agency.
