A FERMANAGH vet is facing two charges related to fraud and alleged false tuberculosis (TB) records.

Christopher McClelland Welsh (58), whose address is listed asErne Veterinary Group, Tempo Road, Enniskillen, has been charged with making an article, namely a BT15 and BT23 record, which declared that an animal was a TB reactor, knowing that it was designed or adapted for use in the course of, or in connection with fraud, or intending it to be used to commit, or assist in the commission of fraud.

A reactor animal is one that has failed a bovine TB test.

Welsh (pictured) is also charged with falsifying TB records by making/supplying articles for use in fraud, knowing the same to be altered, falsely made, ante-dated or counterfeited , a  licence , declar ation, certificate , or instrument made or issued, or purporting to be made or issued, under or for any purpose of that Order.

The offence is alleged to have occurred on December 22, 2022, and Welsh appeared before Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Tuesday, January 2 for a short hearing.

The case has been adjourned until January 17.
