A LISNASKEA man who was caught with a cannabis joint has been fined £200.
Liam Smith (18), of Derryree Wood, was sentenced at Enniskillen Magistrate's Court on Monday, February 12.
A prosecutor told the court how on October 27 of last year, at around 12.50pm, police on mobile patrol stopped a car in the Enniskillen area.
Police spoke with the occupants of the vehicle and noted a strong smell of cannabis emanating from the car, the court heard.
Smith, who was a passenger in the car, admitted to possessing a cannabis joint.
Smith's solicitor said that his client was currently unemployed but was seeking employment within the construction sector.
The solicitor asked Deputy District Judge Archer to deal with Smith "as leniently as possible" due to the "small amount" of cannabis, and his early admission of the offence.
The judge imposed a fine of £100, along with £15 offender levy.
