The community in County Fermanagh has come together in their grief to support the family of the late Laura Downey.

Miss Downey, late of Lackaboy View, Enniskillen, died suddenly at the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) on Saturday, February 17. She was a devoted mum to Harley and Ellie.

Her family have asked for donations to cover the cost of Miss Downey’s funeral.

Posting on the Justgiving website, her brother, Brian Armstrong, said: “As many of you may know, my sister Laura passed away unexpectedly on February 17.

“This is something I never thought I'd have to ask, but if any donations can be made towards the cost of laying her to rest, I'd massively appreciate it.

“I understand this is an unconventional request, but if you had anything spare, no matter how small, it would help immensely.

“Any payments made via this Justgiving page would be put straight towards the funeral expenses, with any excess going to Laura's children.”

The outpouring of support from the community in County Fermanagh is a testament to the impact Laura had on the lives of those around her, where already almost £5,000 has been raised to help toward funeral expenses.

Miss Laura Downey’s funeral service took place yesterday (Wednesday) at Ballycassidy House Funeral Home, following which she was buried at Cross Cemetery, Enniskillen.
