ST. AIDAN'S High School has been named the top performing non-selective post-primary school in Fermanagh. 

According to the data for 2022/23, the Derrylin school was the top schools for GCSE performance in Fermanagh, with 89.8 per cent of students achieving five or more GCSE grades A* to C, including English and Maths. 

The school was ranked as the fourth-best performing non-selective secondary school in Northern Ireland. 

It was closely followed by St. Kevin's College, Lisnaksea, which saw 88.8 per cent of students achieving five or more A* to C grades, including English and Maths. 

Meanwhile, Devenish College also performed strongly, with 72.2 per cent of students achieving five or more A* to C grades including English and Maths.

Topping the non-selective table was Fivemiletown College, with 96.9 per cent of students achieving five or more A* to C grades including English and Maths, while Aughnacloy College was placed third, with 90.6 per cent.

Pat McTeggart, Principal of St. Aidan's High School, said the results in the recent league table was a "testament to the hard work of students and staff".

"We are delighted to be placed as the top post-primary non-selective school in Fermanagh and fourth overall in Northern Ireland," said Mr. McTeggart.

"It is a testament to the hard work of the staff, working in collaboration with students and parents to achieve these fantastic results.

"We didn’t need these results to tell us we are one of top performing academic schools in Northern Ireland, but it is an affirmation of the great work going on in St. Aidan’s."

Mr. McTeggart continued: "With the recent success on the football field, and now academically, the parents and students in the community can be confident that St. Aidan’s is a top school, and one that continues to go from strength to strength.
