The case of a vet accused of charges relating to false documentation and fraud over a TB Reactor test has been withdrawn.

Christopher McClelland Welsh (58), whose address was given as Erne Veterinary Group at Tempo Road, Enniskillen, was charged with intending to unlawfully evade a section of the Tuberculosis (Examination and Testing) Scheme Order 1999 by knowingly altering, falsely making, ante-dating or counterfeiting a licence, declaration, certificate, or instrument.

It was further alleged he made an article, namely a BT15 and BT23 record, which declared that an animal was a Tuberculosis reactor, knowing that it was designed or adapted for use in the course of or in connection with fraud.

Offending was alleged to have occurred on December 22, 2022.

No details surrounding the circumstances of the alleged offences were disclosed over the course of a number of hearings before Enniskillen Magistrates Court, where a Defence solicitor made it clear from the outset that the charges were denied.

At the most recent sitting, counsel for the Public Prosecution Service applied for the charges to be withdrawn, which was granted by District Judge Alana McSorley.

No reason was provided for the withdrawal.
