Funding support is always vital, so I’m sure that all involved with Fermanagh Pride are very thankful for a handy £1,500 grant recently awarded by the Fermanagh Trust.

The funding will help the group to strengthen support and connections for LGBT+ people across Fermanagh and surrounding areas, including include a series of accessible events and activities designed to promote friendship, understanding, and solidarity in a safe and respectful way.

The crew at Fermanagh Pride are busy working away on a range of plans for 2024, including taking part in the colourful Paddy’s Day parade coming up on March 17 in Enniskillen, which come rain or shine will no doubt be a lively event in the town.

The group are also working away on plans for Pride weekend-related activities and events for later in the year, which should help raise awareness of LGBT+ issues, tolerance, and be a bit of a boost for the many LGBT+ people, families and friends in the region.

Sonya Johnston, Deputy Director of the Fermanagh Trust, said: “We believe that by investing in initiatives like this, we can contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and supportive community for all residents of Fermanagh.

"We are proud to support the important work of Fermanagh Pride and look forward to witnessing the positive impact on the lives of individuals throughout the region."

The Fermanagh Trust’s funding for Fermanagh Pride, is in line with its support for many hundreds of voluntary and community charitable groups throughout the county and its hinterland, focused on facilitating groups to improve and promote the wellbeing of those who are disadvantaged and socially excluded from throughout the community.
