The Lisnaskea Emmett’s Lip-sync Challenge event held in the Kilmore Hotel in Cavan last Friday night was a tremendous success for the club, generating in excess of £100,000 for the club’s development of a community hub and the upgrading of its playing facilities.

In front of a crowd of more than 500 people, the atmosphere was electric from the start, when the 15 acts entered before performing individually to the crowd and judges, comprising Emmett’s Club man and County Board Chairman, Brian Armitage; Passionist priest and broadcaster, Fr. Brian D’Arcy; and Marita Woods, Head of the Classical Department, and Music Tutor in the Fermanagh School of Music and Performing Arts.

All facets of the club were represented by the acts, from Underage teams right through to the Club Secretary and PRO, Brian McCabe, as well as Senior Men’s and Ladies’ players, hurlers and supporters.

A group dance was held after the interval where raffles and an auction for All-Ireland tickets took place and were well supported.

The overall winners were the Greatest ShowWomen, who were performing as ‘Barbie’ with ex-County Ladies star Shauna McCrystal leading the act, accompanied by many of the Senior Ladies team.

In addition to thanking all those who took part, the club would like to sincerely thank the club’s organisers: Chairman, Gerry Hicks; Secretary, Brian McCabe; Committee members Pauline McDermott, Mena McManus and Marie Maguire; along with event sponsors McDade Retail Ltd, Swifts Eurospar & Spar, Monaghan Bros and Franks Bar for their generosity and support.

They also wish to thank all the act sponsors, the event organisers Events54 – especially Dee, Alicia, Hannah and Ellie; the judges; those who helped out in any way on the night; sponsors who donated the raffle prizes; photographers; the Kilmore Hotel, and a special thanks to all those who donated to each act, raising huge funds, and of course, all those who attended the show.
