The late Iggy Murphy would have been proud of the number of people battling the hills of Coa on Sunday morning in his memory as part of a run organised by Coa O'Dwyers GAC.

The runners tackled either a 5k or a 10k route round the townland where Mr. Murphy was deeply proud of his association.

Mr. Murphy was well-known in music and football circles and was 44 when he died February 2021 following a battle with cancer.

Money raised from the event was given to charity including to Marie Curie and St. Vincent De Paul and a final total raised is yet to be announced.
