There must be greater co-operation with cancer care between Northern and the Republic of Ireland says Jemma Dolan.
The Sinn Féin MLA for Fermanagh South Tyrone said: "To improve cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and quality of life, we must utilise all tools available in the fight against cancer."
Miss Dolan urged the Health Minister to ensure "the new cancer strategy includes north-south cancer care co-operation as a key pillar".
She believes an all-island approach would improve cancer services, but "also help to make healthcare across the island more sustainable."
She also believes that improved co-operation would mean the research and development of new and effective treatments for cancer patients.
