Jeffrey Donaldson, who is under investigation for historical sexual offences, has been suspended from the Orange Order.
Earlier today, he resigned as leader of the Democratic Unionist Party after it emerged that he was arrested and charged in relation to historical sexual offences.
A spokesman for the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland told The Impartial Reporter that Mr. Donaldson's membership "has been suspended in accordance with the rules of the Northern Ireland Orange Institution."
