The Ardhowen Theatre is gearing up for a packed month of entertainment this December.

First on the bill is the classic family musical, 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.'

The show, known for its upbeat pop and theatre classics, will run from December 4 until December 13.

Since they released the concept album in 1969, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s multi award-winning show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has been performed hundreds of thousands of times and has become one of the world’s most beloved family musicals.

They are also making their two Saturday matinees specifically 'family friendly', with the understanding that younger audience members may need to move around a little, and leave/return to the auditorium during the performance as well.

In line with last year's success, the 'sensory Sunday' matinee returns on December 7.

This inclusive show will be a gentler, welcoming performance for those who may find regular theatre experiences overwhelming.

Adjustments include lower sound levels, no sudden loud noises or flashes, and lights remaining on throughout.

There will also be a sensory play area in the foyer, and a British Sign Language interpreter will be on hand.

A smoke/haze machine and flashing lights will be used during this performance.

Ballet Ireland will take over the venue on December 17 with a unique take on 'Cinderella'.

Set in 1950s New York, the ballet tells the story of Ella who leaves her beloved Ireland in search of a new life.

Destiny awaits as she discovers work at the exclusive Park Plaza Hotel.

The announcement of a grand ball for the birthday of Alexander Vanderbilt sets her fate in motion.

Choreographer Loughlan Prior promises to deliver a powerful performance with themes of identity, self-worth, hope, and optimism.

Music lovers will be glad to see Declan Nerney step onto the Ardhowen stage on December 20.

The country singer, who has had an impressive four-decade-long career, will be joining his live band for "a nostalgic night of music, song and laughter."

The following week will see the much-anticipated return of 'The Greatest 80’s Show.'

The musical extravaganza, scheduled for December 27, promises brand-new songs and exciting surprises.

The crowd is expected to be buzzing with the same phenomenal energy that has established this as a must-see for any 80s fan.

'Little Bo Peep’s Christmas Mix Up' will also grace the stage from December 18 to 19.

The Christmas-tale tells the story of Bo Peep and her pet, digging through mysteries and fun at a Christmas fair to find missing sheep critical to Santa’s Christmas plans.

As a nice contrast, the month concludes with 'Christmas Country With The Stars' on December 29, returning due to popular demand.

This event features favourite acts from across Ireland, including Mick Flavin, Kathy Durkin and Stephen Smyth, performing alongside the Brian Kerrigan band.
