DEAR MADAM - I was surprised to read your article on Derek Chambers. I worked with Derek at Florencecourt on the National Trust and always found him to be a helpful decent person and a good boss to work for. I am saddened to think that he is being treated like this after all the service he has given to Florencecourt over the years. I have always found him to be a good person and very helpful to us when we worked with him.
I would hope the people that are doing these things to him will be soon caught and punished.
I would also hope that his friends and neighbours keep a close eye on him and his wife.
There is too much of this sort of thing going on. Old age pensioners should be treated with respect and understanding, not be made afraid to be in their own homes and among their own community.
Yours faithfully, NOEL STORY Clabby
