A number of young Enniskillen Running Club athletes qualified as medallists from their district for these finals Year 8s Sophia Williams and Anna Gillespie from ERGS and MLE, having only recently taken up the sport, did really well to get through into the Mini girls 800m final. They battled bravely and will come back stronger in future years. Ava Thompson from Devenish College ran in the junior girls 800m final and she had a great run to come seventh in Ulster. She equalled her PB set the previous week at the Fermanagh schools finals Edel Monaghan is in her final year of schools competitions and had qualified for two events. She ran in the senior girl’s 3000m final on Friday evening and after a strong run was pipped into second. The next day she lined up in the 1500m.
