Ballinamallard United 1 Ballyclare Comrades 0
Nathan Cashel's third minute goal was enough to secure a 1-0 win for Ballinamallard against Ballyclare Comrades at Ferney Park today and in doing so clinched a top six spot for the Mallards in the split in the Bluefin Sport Championship.
The Mallards went into the game in eighth spot, two points behind Ballyclare and Loughgall but Larne's win over Loughgall and the Ducks victory over Ballyclare saw Harry McConkey's side claim the top six spot.
Cashel got on the end of a Jason McCartney header to fire the Mallards into an early lead.
Ballyclare did put the home side under pressure, especially late on, but the home side defended well as they held on to claim the points.
