Head of Rowing at Enniskillen Royal Boat Club, Irish Rowing Olympian, Derek Holland handed over two cheques at the Club last week whilst maintaining social distancing after successfully completing a Live 2K Rowing Challenge on Saturday, May 16. Derek completed his 2K in 7 minutes, 7 seconds, his target for the Challenge was one minute above his PB of 6.12 so he was more than happy with his time.
Rosie Maguire from Action Mental Health accepted a cheque for £1603 and this money will be used locally at New Horizons, Drumcoo, Enniskillen. Action Mental Health have completed mental health education sessions with the Club’s rowers and parents over the last few months.
Stephen Scott from Carrybridge RNLI picked up a cheque for £1947.50 which also included money raised at ERBC’s Christmas Gala Ball. This money will be divided between the stations at Carrybridge and Enniskillen to help them in their work.
Derek wishes to thank everyone who supported him through his Challenge and is very grateful for the opportunity to help two great local charities.
