Maguiresbridge manager David Teague has a firm belief that his side are more than capable of getting their hands on the silverware on Saturday evening when they take on Enniskillen in the Intermediate Championship final in Brewster Park.

And that belief has been further cemented following Sunday's remarkable comeback against Belcoo to book their spot in the final. The 'Bridge looked dead and buried at the second half waterbreak as they trailed by eight points but they completely turned the game on its head in the closing stages to bag three goals to run out three point winners.

"Even in the first Belcoo game we were winning by five but in the last quarter Belcoo went a goal up and then a point up but we fought back each time. I just don't think at the minute that we are ever beaten," said Teague, who acknowledged that his side will go into the final as underdogs.

"We have been the underdogs in the three games that we have played and the final is going to be no different.

"People looking on at the game will see a bottom half of Division Two team against a top half of Division One team and the whole pressure is on them so I think it is well set up for us.

"It is going to be a massive task but we are fully confident in our own ability," he added.

Teague watched his team defeat St. Pat's in the quarter finals and then see off Belcoo after a replay in the last four and he felt before a ball was kicked in the competition that his side could hold their own with any team in it.

"From the start of the championship I have always believed that no matter who we are drawn against that we can compete with them. Obviously now we are faced with Enniskillen who are the most fancied team but on our day we are going to be a hard team to beat.

"On the day we are confident that we can punish them if they are not up to scratch. Also, I think that going by our performances they won't be looking forward to playing us," he said.

He does though know that the Gaels possess a lot of quality in all areas of the field while he stresses that they are going to have to find a way to deal with Enniskillen's high press.

"We know that as a 15 they have quality all over the pitch. Conor Love inside has been very good and their middle third is impressive and that's something for us to work on. Also, from watching their matches, their press is unreal, the high press up the pitch is a platform for a lot of their attacks so beating that press is one thing we will be working on over the next few days."

However, he feels that they have a good mix of youth and experience within their squad. Indeed, they have players who have played in a couple of Intermediate finals previously although they lost both, to Enniskillen in 2014 and Derrylin in 2016>????

"We have a good few men who have played Intermediate finals before and they will be keen to right those two defeats, while we also have the younger boys coming through who have played in the MacRory and Hogan finals so they are all positives to look to," commented Teague.

And he believes that if they can get a performance then there is no reason why they can't be victorious on Saturday night.

"I think we know ourselves, the 15 men plus the five who come on, have to be at the top of their game and I think if that happens then we will come out on the right side of the result," he concluded.
