Siblings Sophia and Patrick Williams have both qualified for the final of the British Shooting Schools’ Pistol Championships.

Patrick was first in the Intermediate NI category and Sophia second in the Senior NI category.

Both will compete in the national final, with scores to be submitted at the end of May.

Meanwhile, Patrick has been chosen as one of three members of the Junior Tetrathlon team to represent Northern Ireland (NI) at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

The competition is between NI, England, Scotland and Wales and is held over two days at the horse show, which this year will be held from July 1-4.

The shoot and swim will take place at the leisure centre in Windsor.

The teams will then complete a 1,500m run along the banks of the Thames, and then ride in the arena at the Windsor Horse Show.

The riding element consists of a round of show jumps and the members of the NI Team will ride a pony chosen from the team members of England, Wales or Scotland.

It is difficult for NI members to bring their own ponies, which is why they ride a pony from the other teams. They will have about 20 minutes to get used to the pony before completing the round of jumps.

Sophia was a member of the Northern Ireland team that competed at Windsor three years ago.
