A newly-built four-bedroom house could be all yours if you are the lucky winner of Club Eirne’s ambitious ‘Win A House in Fermanagh’ fundraising competition.

The fundraiser will see the proceeds from the competition used to finance the development of the facilities at Lissan, bringing them up to standards required to meet all the modern needs of all the county’s players, from Underage right through to the Senior sides.

Plans for the fundraising competition were unveiled at the recent Club Eirne Race Day in Fairyhouse where there were 400 people in attendance and the prize for the winner will be a magnificent, newly-built, four-bedroom detached house at Drumgarrow Village on the edge of Enniskillen.

The cost of the redevelopment of Lissan could run to £2.5m, and Club Eirne Chairman Ger Treacy has urged all Gaels in the county to get behind the fundraising competition, especially as the clubs are set to benefit financially from it.

Every ticket sold by a club member will see 25 percent go back into their club, so with tickets costing £100, £25 from each sale will return to the ticket seller’s club.

“I think it is key that everyone in the county gets behind this big fundraising initiative that Club Eirne and our fellow members in Club Eirne USA have been working on for quite some time now.

“For me, it is a win-win for the clubs and it has to be an initiative by the clubs for the clubs,” he said.

Work has already began at Lissan with the upgrading of the two pitches and now, with plans already passed for a sports pavilion which will include a 3,000sq ft strength and conditioning hub, changing facilities and meeting rooms, as well as work to enhance the outside area at Lissan with parking, floodlighting and a covered stand, a lot more money will be required to bring these to fruition.

Tickets are set to go live online for the fundraising competition next week with hard copies also available.

Club Eirne have set a target of 12,000 tickets to be sold for this to be the success they are aiming for.

“We would urge people at home and indeed across the world to support this competition and make it a huge success.

“The plans that the county have for Lissan will make it a state-of-the-art facility, but to achieve that we need this to be a success.

“This is our time and it is therefore up to all Fermanagh people and clubs to assist Club Eirne in making this happen,” said Treacy.
