The popular Tour of Fermanagh sportive and leisure charity cycle returns after a two year absence next month.

The cycle, which starts and finishes in Lisnaskea with two tailored cycle routes of 60km and 120km to suit all abilities, will take place on Saturday September 3.

The cross community cycle is hosted by Lisnaskea Emmetts along with Enniskillen Royal Boat Club while Clones Cycle Club continue to be associates of the Tour of Fermanagh.

There has already been 100 cyclists who have booked their place online for the cycle and it is expected that there will be between 250-300 who will participate on the day.

Organising Committee member, Colm McCreesh commented:

“It is great to have the Tour of Fermanagh back as it is a brilliant cross community event.”

Organisers are pleased that Action Mental Health (Fermanagh New Horizons) will be the charity that will benefit from the event.

There will be a food stop provided halfway around both routes in Kinawley and refreshments will be served at the finish line while all participants will receive a Tour of Fermanagh t-shirt.

Race The Rock at Carnmore will also feature again this year with €100 prize money for both the King and Queen of the Rock.

McCreesh added: “The organising committee wish to thank the sponsors; Monaghan Brothers, Mannok, Cassidy & McCreesh Orthodontic and Swifts Spar, Lisnaskea for their continued support and generosity.

“We also want to thank Timmy Emerson (Emerson Cycles) and Robert Wilson (Pedalware) who will provide first class mechanical support on the day.”

Online registration will be available until September 1 and participants can also register on the morning of the event.
