Erne wrestlers have been working hard in preparation of events upcoming. Throughout the year, members train to do their very best.

One of the wrestlers who has always dedicated himself to good training and a disciplined lifestyle is Darragh Love.

Darragh has been selected to the GB under 20 squad after demonstrating his commitment and achieving the results required to make it to this level both at home and abroad.

Darragh earned this selection in part, by being the top GB U20 wrestler at the recent British Junior Championships.

At the time, he was still 17 which meant clearance from his coach was required to allow entry into the division. He beat all other GB wrestlers in that division.

Darragh will also be representing Northern Ireland in Helsinki, Finland at a very large tournament of more than 70 teams in December. He won that tournament a year ago so is geared up to do very well.

Matthew Crozier and Ewan McDowell from the club, will also be traveling to Helsinki representing Northern Ireland. Both of these young men have put the work in and achieved the results to make it happen.

Before this, Darragh, Matthew and Ewan will be joining their team mates of Erne Wrestling Club to compete in the Irish Open Championships next weekend.

Erne Wrestlers taking part in the Irish Open Championships include juniors Ewan McDowell, Naoise McManus, Jamie and Ben Edgar. At U18, Morgan Clements will represent and at senior level Darragh Love, Matthew Crozier, Ivan Enchev and Cameron Clements will take to the mat for Erne Wrestling. This squad competing is made up of some first time wrestlers along with experienced wrestlers so a good day of learning and applying the skills is expected.
