Lough Erne PGA Professional Damian Mooney has advanced to the final stages of the Legends Tour Qualifying School after making light work of Stage One in Turkey this week.
The top five players at the finish of the final stage, which will take place from January 20-23, will earn full playing rights for the 2023 Legends Tour season where they will have the opportunity to play alongside the likes of Padraig Harrington, Darren Clarke, Paul McGinley, Ernie Els and Colin Montgomerie.
Mooney, a former European Tour player, was in fine form as he hit a four-under-par 68 to lead the way after Day One of the qualifying event and followed it up with an even par 72 on the final day, with three birdies cancelling out three bogeys.
This saw Mooney ease through to the final stage, qualifying in fifth spot.
In all 43 players progressed to the final stage which starts on Friday.
