There was more fantastic results for Fermanagh athletes at the E District Championships at the Antrim Forum last Friday with further golds in the younger age sections adding to the medals won in Clones last week at the older age groups.

St Michael’s Jack O’Connor was in fine form at the meet as he secured gold in the Junior Boys 100m and 200m, defeating team mate Ryan Hegarty in the 200m while St Michael’s also took gold in the relay.

Harry McKenzie of Enniskillen Royal was another to land gold as he won the Junior 1500m as well as claiming bronze in the 80m Hurdles.

Luke Robinson (Fivemiletown High) Joshua Downey (Devenish College), Fallis Rowan (Devenish College) and Deivs Tarvids (St Michael’s were among the others to get their hands on medals i this age group.

In the Mini Boys, there was further success for St Michael’s as Piaras Toner claimed gold in the 800m while St Michael’s secured the win in the relay too.

River Houston (Fivemiletown High), Daragh Boyle (St Michael’s), Ozols Miks (Devenish College) and James Campbell (Devenish College) secured medals too.

Meanwhile Enniskillen Royal’s Jake Gregg took gold in the Minor Boys 800m, ahead of Kacper Ferens of St Michael’s.

There was also gold for Jay Ely of Erne Integrated in the Shot with Jack Donnelly (St Michael’s), Jacon Balfour (Enniskillen Royal), Patrick Toal (St Michael’s) and Joshua Sembi (Enniskillen Royal) medalling. Enniskillen Royal also took bronze in the relay.

The Girls section also produced some excellent displays. In the Mini Girls Megan Mullally lead home a clean sweep of local runners in the 800m. The Mount Lourdes girl came home ahead of team mate Naoisa McKenna and Cadhla Stroud of St Fanchea’s with Eve Cox (Erne Integrated) and Orlaith Lunny (St Fancheas) just outside the placings.

Freya McNeary (Enniskillen Royal) took bronze in the Long Jump while Enniskillen Royal claimed silver in the relay.

In the Minor Girls there was a gold and a silver for Annabelle McKenzie of Enniskillen Royal. Annabelle took top spot in the 75m Hurdles while she was second in the 800m.

Other medallists in this section included Zoe Elliott (Enniskillen Royal) in the 100m and Long Jump, Grace Connolly (Mount Lourdes in the 800m, Tori Lilly (Enniskillen Royal) in the 75m Hurdles and Poppie Beddard (Enniskillen Royal) in the High Jump while Enniskillen Royal and Mount Lourdes also medalled in the relay.

In the Junior Girls, Eden Davis had a strong run to take gold for Mount Lourdes in the 1500m while there was medals for Rowena Kells of Devenish College in the 100m and Sophie Richardson of Fivemiletown High in the High Jump. Devenish College also picked up bronze in the relay.
