Mark Cutler scored four as Enniskillen Rangers coasted into the last 16 of the Junior Cup with a convincing victory over All Saints Old Boys at the Ball Range.

In the first half Cutler scored two and missed a penalty before notching his third and fourth in the first five minutes of the second half.

Joel Byrne and Jake Browne racked up second half goals, with the Rangers’ defence keeping a clean sheet to extend their record of not conceding a goal in the competition this season.

Manager Michael Kerr was delighted with his side’s performance both in defence and attack.

“On the day we were excellent to a man, from start to finish,” he said.

“Defensively we were sound and very well organised, and offensively we were good going forward. It was top notch. A really good performance.

“It is hard to single out any individual. Mark Cutler gets four goals and there were some very good individual performances, but overall, collectively I was delighted with how the whole team played, even the subs coming on played their part.

“They had their first shot on target in the 90th minute, and it was great to keep another clean sheet in the cup.

“To get to the last 16 is a good achievement.

You can see the strength in depth of the Fermanagh and Western with seven clubs still left in the competition, and we are looking forward to the draw,” concluded Kerr.

It took just six minutes for Rangers to take the lead against the Ballymena based side.

Joel Byrne picked up possession in the All Saints’ half and drove at the defence before sliding a pass through for Cutler, and the striker took a touch and fired low past the keeper.

Rangers continued to hold the upper hand in the first half and had a great chance to double their lead from the penalty spot but Cutler missed.

The striker made amends before the interval when the away side gifted possession to Byrne, and he fired across the six yard box for his strike partner to convert.

Rangers made the perfect start to the second half, scoring within seconds.

From the kick off Jake Browne lifted the ball forward and confusion in the visitor’s defence allowed Cutler to pick up possession and find Byrne.

His shot was saved but Cutler followed up to complete his hat-trick.

Cutler’s fourth arrived five minutes later when he got on the end of Conor Rippey’s cross, and Byrne made it five midway through the half when he collected a long ball over the top of All Saints’ defence and rounded the keeper.

Browne completed the rout, bursting between two defenders and firing past the keeper to score the sixth.
