Fermanagh's visit to Ballinamore to take on Leitrim proved to be a cakewalk for the Erne men who hammered the struggling home side by 24 points.

The game was over as a contest by the half-time whistle as the visitors opened up a 16-point lead and they would go on to increase that over the second period.

Leitrim managed to get the game's opening score when goalkeeper Clement Cunniffe put over a long-range 2nd minute free.

But it would be their only score until the 30th minute. Fermanagh hitting an unanswered 1-09 in between.

Fermanagh levelled a minute later Danann McKeogh split the Leitrim posts.

In the space of another minute, Luca McCusker put Fermanagh ahead with a well-executed strike from a placed ball.

It was after this that the Erne men's complete rout of Leitrim began as they continued to play most of the remainder of the half in the home side's half of the field.

Tom Keenan and John Duffy would find the target before McCusker's accuracy from placed balls was again on show.

Fermanagh stretched their advantage over Leitrim to eleven points by the 28th minute thanks to four Luca McCusker free conversions, as well as a Jimmy Tormey goal after Tormey was put through by Thomas Duane while Tom Keenan and John Duffy also tapped over a free.

Leitrim who hadn't scored for 29 minutes replied when Conor Hackett slotted an effort over the Fermanagh crossbar.

Fermanagh finished out the half strongly with unanswered points from Thomas Duane, Luca McCusker (free), Ben Corrigan, John Duffy and Danann McKeogh all involved in the scoring to go in leading at the break by 1-15 to 0-02.

After the restart, Leitrim managed to raise their game a few degrees but still proved to be no match for the bang on form Fermanagh men.

Hackett got his second a minute after the restart but this was cancelled out by Duane.

Again Leitrim scored with Cunniffe pointing from a free but a John Duffy 65 again cancelled out the score.

Fermanagh would hit the next four scores through McKeogh, Brian Teehan and Daniel Teague and a Duffy free before Leitrim would grab a consolation goal with less than 15 minutes to play.

Leitrim sub Dhani Keane found the net to put a slightly better complexion on the scoreboard for the home side to make it 1-21 to 1-04.

But Fermanagh came back and over the remainder of the game, they would hit further points through Duffy and Teehan while Conor Beirne got a sole reply for Leitrim who were well beaten on the day.
