Despite the win over Derry last Sunday, Fermanagh Ladies manager, CJ McGourty, could not hide his disappointment at some issues both during the game and before it that led him to describe it as "the most frustrated I have been" since he took the reins.

"We are happy we won the match but we would not be happy with the overall performance, overall energy we showed throughout the game," he said.

"We can't be perfect every day and can't put on shows every day of the week but I suppose it was a win but the performance has to be better moving forward."

McGourty also aired his disappointment at the lack of facilities available to his squad when they had planned to train last Friday evening.

Before a snowflake had touched Fermanagh soil and would have cancelled the session anyway, McGourty and his management team called off the training on Thursday evening because there was no pitch available to train on.

"We didn’t get to train on Friday night and it was on Thursday evening we had to make a call on it and it wasn't to do with the weather, it was to do with unavailability of pitches. These girls deserve a lot better.

"We couldn’t get a club pitch anywhere, we couldn't get Lissan, we rang Clogher Valley Rugby Club we tried absolutely everywhere.

"It was no fault of the Ladies' County Board, no fault of the management. These girls deserve better and we need clubs to come forward and try and help us with pitches where possible. And if Lissan is free we need to try and get into it it was frustrating.

"Did that impact performance? It probably did. I think that had a massive impact on our normal week and probably upset the girls' rhythm."

Fermanagh have until March 24 to rectify the issues. They meet Carlow in the Division Four league semi-final then. The Leinster side are the only team Fermanagh have not beaten in the league this year, drawing in an earlier round. And McGourty is hoping for a return to the levels of performance he expects from his side.

"We'll review it over the next seven days. We need to focus on ourselves and getting our performance right and then do our homework on Carlow.

"We'll take bits and pieces out of the first game [against Carlow] as I'm sure they will. But look they have played Carlow five or six times over the last few years so both teams know each other very well.

"We have just got to make sure we were better than we were on Sunday or it doesn’t matter what tactics we have or what learnt.

"If we don’t show the energy that we showed in the first four or five games we'll not count."
